Someone / something / nobody

​Nothing, no one, nobody, nowhere have a negative meaning but are used in positive sentences.

There is nothing to do. NOT There is not nothing to do.​

​Use anything in negative sentences. There isn't anything to do.

I went nowhere last night. (I stayed home.)​

Nobody came to the meeting.

I saw no one I knew.​

​Anybody, anyone, anywhere, and anything are used in negative sentences and questions:

She didn't do anything yesterday.

I didn't go anywhere during the COVID pandemic.
