Gases are unique because of how the particles involved can move to fill its container
The volume of the spaces in between molecules is larger than the volume of the gas particles put together
Gases can be squeezed into a smaller space
Compressibility: a measure of how much volume decreases under a certain amount of pressure

Gas Pressure and Amount of Gas
It is easy to predict how gases react due to the kinetic theory of matter
Adding more particles to a rigid container does not change the volume of gas, but does change the pressure
More particles = More Collisions = More Pressure

Decreasing the Volume of a gas increases its pressure
A smaller space forces particles to collide
As you push down more and more, it eventually becomes harder because the pressure is so great it takes more force to overcome it

Increasing temperature increases the kinetic energy
