National hispanic heritage month
National Hispanic Heritage Month takes place every year in the United States between September 15 and October 15. The word “Hispanic” describes native Spanish speakers or descendants of Spanish speakers who live in the US.
Note: Many people confuse the terms “Hispanic” and “Latino,” but they are not the same. “Hispanic” is used to refer to the language that a population speaks. “Latino,” on the other hand, is a geographic term that refers to where people are from—Latin America.
