The Rocky Mountain has mild summers, cold winters, and a lot of rain and snow, and at night the temperature could drop​ to below zero. In the summer, there are sunny mornings, afternoon thunderstorms, and clear nights. In the fall, cool crisp days often give wind and rain at night.​

Mule deer, pronghorn, antelope, black bears, brown bears, bighorn sheep, wolves, coyotes, and mountain lions. The animals have adapted to the steep terrain. Some animals even shed their dark fur and grown lighter fur so they can blend in with the snow.​

​The mountains provided protection from the hostile Indian tribes, the river offered water for farming. Santa Fe is the largest city in the Rocky Mountain Province.

​Colorado Plateau Province

​Climate:

At the lower elevations of the Plateau, temperatures range from 20F to the 90F. At higher elevations, summer temperatures rarely exceed 70 degrees, and winter temperatures in the single digits are common.

​The plateau supports desert plants, such as blackbrush shadscale as well as rich, grassy meadows. There are Mice, rats, prairie dogs, gophers, squirrels, and more live at the lower elevations.

​The Colorado Plateau Province is not as populated as other parts of the state. However it is home to many Navajo Indians. The Navajo Nation the largest Indian reservation in the United States. The Navajo Nation cover four corner region of New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado. New Mexicans have settled in this region because of its mineral resources.
