​POSSIBLE (ADJ) - can potentially happen

IMPOSSIBLE (ADJ)- cannot happen. WHY IM and not UN? = Because all words with a LATIN ROOT FOLLOW LATIN RULES.

​POSSIBLE CAN ALSO BE A NOUN:

POSSIBILITY- the potential for something to happen.

IMPOSSIBILITY- the total absence of potential for something to happen​

EXHAUST- VERB - to use up the contents of something, usually energy.

​ADJECTIVE FORMS:

EXHAUSTED - feeling like you have no energy because of something

EXHAUSTING- a thing that causes something to have no energy

EXHAUSTIVE- something that has included everything to the point of causing exhaustion

EXHAUSTIBLE - something that can be exhausted

IVE- ADJs that mean wholly / ABLE or IBLE- something that has the potential of​

EXHAUSTION​- the state of having nothing left of something.

​ION suffix- makes verbs into nouns and refers to a single incident of a process.

“explanation is a single process of explaining something”

​Breath (N)- refers to the single act of breathing.

Breathe (v) - refers to inhaling and exhalation oxygen

​

When you add -LESS to a noun you make it into an adjective with a whole new word formation set.

Hope- Hopeless etc.

Breathless (ADJ) a person, group or thing without breath

Breathlessly (ADV) ​an action that was done without breath

To make a noun out of an adjective that ends with -LESS we use -LESSNESS​

​eg. Hope- hopeless - hopelessness

​Breathlessness is often a sign of pneumonia and other respiratory illnesses.

​ENJOY (V) - to be made happy or satisfied by something.

ENJOYABLE (ADJ) - something that can cause joy

(remember that -able means ‘something that can happen)

​ENJOYMENT (N)- the condition of enjoying anything

(remember that -ment means something that has a physical evidence that would be a reason to enjoy yourself. For example, a party or rollercoaster)
