In the 18th Dynasty, Akhenaten forced his people to switch from a polytheistic religion to monotheism.
How would that have impacted the economy and its people?

Akhenaten replaced everyone's gods with Aten, the Sun God.
The Pharaoh rules over everyone. He gives directions to his priests.
The Priests tell the engineers, architects, and workers what to build.
If they aren't worshipping the same gods, and therefore, aren't needing temples for those gods, what happens to the workers and their wages?
