What skills are needed to master this standard?
Students need to be able to physically count objects one at a time, assigning one number to each object as they count. Students should be able to count to 10 along with sorting objects into that specific number group. Prior to entering this grade students should have been counting each and every day to become more fluent with numbers.

Classify objects into given categories; count the number of objects in each category, and sort the categories by count. Limit the category count to less than 10 or equal to 10.
