Language is divided into two categories, literal and figurative.
The positivity or negativity of a message in a text can be recognized either through explicit markers (literal) or implicit meanings (figurative).

Two Sides again...
When the words or phrases mean exactly what they are supposed to mean, we call them LITERAL.
When the message is implicitly expressed and departs from the dictionary meaning, we call the language used FIGURATIVE.
