Online Education Pre-COVID19 (the before times)

• Pre-Pandemic, 4.5 million students were enrolled in part or full-time online education.

• Distance learning (DL) provides student choice, convenience, and personalization opportunities.

• Pre-COVID19, teacher adoption of online teaching tools​ was minimal.

• Students were unfamiliar with online learning platforms. ​

• Daily check-ins

Teaching in 2020:

One educator's experience

Teaching is hard. Give students what they need, whether a mental health break or tough love. We do not have jobs without our students, and their learning and well-being is our priority.

​When creating assignments, think about how you could make it digital. Incorporate digital literacy skills into your courses. Ask your students!

Think ahead

​Try something new! Look for online platforms that can engage students. Not sure where to start? Ask your colleagues or do a Google Search.
