When do we use

Things which are happening at the moment of speaking:

ie. The water is boiling now, so you can put in the pasta.

​Temporary situations:

ie. Julie is living in Paris for a few months (usually she lives in London).

To describe what is happening in a picture:

ie.​ The woman is sitting next to the window.

Things which are always true:

ie.Water boils ate 100º

​Permanent situations (or nearly permanent; true for a few years at least):

ie. Julie lives in London.

​Habits or things we do regularly:

​ie. I drink coffee every morning.
