Cellular Respiration and Photosynthesis Chemical Equations
2
3
Photosynthesis takes place in plants, or autotrophs. Plants have chloroplast which contain chlorophyll. Plants need energy from the sun to make glucose, or sugar. This glucose is then changed to energy.
Photosynthesis
4
For photosynthesis to occur, chloroplasts need to be present. Carbon dioxide and water react with sunlight to yield sugar and oxygen.
What is needed for photosynthesis?
5
Multiple Choice
Where does photosynthesis take place in autotrophs?

Photosynthesis puzzle pieces
Cut out pieces: K, I, J, A, C, and B
Glue these into a 2 x 3 rectangle
Cut out: V, Q, N, S, R
We will label these and put them in order in the equation.

9
Cellular Respiration takes place in all cells in the mitochondria. Sugars from food are changed to stored energy. All cells need oxygen and sugars for cellular respiration to occur.
Cellular Respiration
10
For cellular respiration to occur, sugars and oxygen need to be present. Sugars and oxygen react to form carbon dioxide, water and ATP which is usable energy. In animals CO2 is a waste product.
