​The staff (the plural is stave) is what musical notation is written on. It's a set of five, horizontal lines and four spaces. But how it works?

Lines and spaces beetwen the lines are used to represent different sounds. ​

Lines and spaces in the staff are always counted from bottom to top ​

High pitch instruments use the treble clef. ( violin,flute, trumpet, guitar)

Low pitch use the bass clef ​(bass, tuba, trombone)

​​Bass or F Clef

​

​A clef tells us how every line and space of the staff is called. Different instruments use different clef depending on its pitch range
