​Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in education is the mode of education that use information and communications technology to support, enhance, and optimise the delivery of information. Worldwide research has shown that ICT can lead to an improved student learning and better teaching methods. (Linway team, 2017)

​Did you know that the term "netiquette" was first used in 1982 in a UseNet forum? Because of the rapid advancement of technology, netiquette was invented to avoid misinterpretation and encourage internet users to adopt ethical behavior on the internet.

​ICTs are undeniably an important part of our social environment today. They also appear in our depictions of social change. If ICTs truly represent a technological watershed that vastly improves our lives while also having a largely positive impact on a social-structural level, the mandate of social change actors should be fairly straightforward.

​It is essential that students understand the ethical responsibilities that come with using ICT. Students need to understand copyright laws and the consequences of violating them. As teachers, we can help students understand this by reinforcing the concepts of plagiarism and referencing each time they conduct computer research. Students should be aware that this applies to all work, including but not limited to information, photographs, and videos.

​Cyber threats are a big deal. Cyber attacks can cause electrical blackouts, failure of military equipment, and breaches of national security secrets. They can result in the theft of valuable, sensitive data like medical records. They can disrupt phone and computer networks or paralyze systems, making data unavailable.

​Social media is the easiest way to find information around us. Through social media, we can connect with our loved ones. However, we should be concerned about what information we should share online and publicly. Think before you click is a campaign to control people from overexposing themselves in social networking sites.
