A conjunctive adverb is used to clarify the relationship between clauses of equal weight in a sentence. (They do very similar jobs)

How to find Conjunctive Adverbs

They use the second clause to modify the first clause like an adverb. Conjunctive adverbs can follow a semicolon or a period and typically have a comma after them.

Are followed by an exclamation point.

Hey! watch out or you'll get hurt!​

Are followed by a comma.

Mild Emotions

Interjections: They Express Emotion or exclamation.
