คู่อันดับ ( Ordered Pairs )

หลักการ ในทางคณิตศาสตร์ คู่อันดับ เขียนในรูป (a,b) โดยที่ a เป็นสมาชิกตัวหน้า และ b เป็นสมาชิกตัวหลัง

ทำให้ทราบว่า 1. คู่อันดับจะถือว่าตำแหน่งของสมาชิกตัวหน้า และสมาชิกตัวหลังเป็นสำคัญ

2. ถ้าเราสลับสมาชิกตัวหน้ากับสมาชิกตัวหลังของคู่อันดับแล้วจะเกิดคู่อันดับใหม่

และเป็นจริงด้วยว่า

1. (a,b) ≠ (b,a) ยกเว้นในกรณีที่ a = b เท่านั้น เช่น ( 2,3 ) ≠ (3,2)

2. (a,b) = (c,d) ก็ต่อเมื่อ a = c และ b = d

ตัวอย่าง กำหนดให้ ( x , y ) = ( 3 , 2x - 5 ) จงหาค่าของ x และ y

วิธีทำ จาก ( a , b ) = ( c , d ) ก็ต่อเมื่อ a = c และ b = d

จะได้ x = 3 ………........…………(1)

y = 2x – 5 ..........................(2)

แก้สมการ ( 1 ) กับ ( 2 ) จะได้ x = 3 และ y = 1

ตัวอย่าง ถ้า ( x + 3 , y - 4 ) ≠ ( 5 , 1 ) จงหาค่าของ x และ y

ผลคูณคาร์ทีเซียน ( Cartesian Product )

บทนิยาม ผลคูณคาร์ทีเซียนของเซต A และเซต B คือเซตของคู่อันดับ ( a , b ) ทั้งหมด โดยที่ a เป็นสมาชิกของเซต A และ b เป็น

สมาชิกของเซต B

ข้อตกลง ผลคูณคาร์ทีเซียนของเซต A และ B เขียนแทนด้วย A x B (A Cross B)

A x B = { ( x , y ) I x ∈ A และ y ∈ B }

การหาจำนวนสับเซตทั้งหมดของผลคูณคาร์ทีเซียน
