Setiap nun atau mim bertasydid wajib dibaca ghunnah (dengung) baik saat nun atau mim bertasydid berada di tengah atau akhir bacaan (waqaf). Sebab pada dasarnya nun tasydid seolah-olah berasal dari nun mati bertemu nun, sedangkan mim tasydid juga seolah-olah berasal dari mim mati bertemu nun.
