The baby is cute.
The baby is happy.
The baby wears a purple dress.

The underlined words in the sentences are called ADJECTIVES.

An ADJECTIVE describes or modifies a noun or a pronoun.
In sentence number 1, we used the word cute to describe the baby.
In sentence number 2, we used the word happy to describe the baby.
In sentence number 3, we used purple to describe the color of the dress.

We use adjectives to make the message clearer.
The use of an adjective arouses the interest and make the sentence or story interesting.

An ADJECTIVE can be :
Opinion - example: difficult subject
Size - example: a little girl
Age: example: young boy
Shape: example: a square table
Color: example: a pink bag
Origin: example: Cordilleran costume
Material: example: a metal box
Purpose: example: a racing car

It is easy to identify an adjective.
Just remember: opinion, size, age, shape, color, origin, material or purpose
