It expresses an action or links important parts of a sentence together.

What does a verb do?

• The subject is who/what the sentence is about. It is usually your main noun.

• The predicate is the verb and anything else that tells us about the subject.​

ACtion Verbs

Action verbs show what the subject is doing/has done/will do.

There are different kinds of ACTION verbs - DOING, SAYING, THINKING/FEELING.

​DOING - walk, talk, chew, dance, laugh

SAYING - whisper, scream, spoke, squealed​

THINKING/FEELING - depend, ​wonder, think, love
