WHat is it for?

It expresses an action or links important parts of a sentence together.
What does a verb do?
The subject is who/what the sentence is about. It is usually your main noun.
The predicate is the verb and anything else that tells us about the subject.

Larry Feels sick today.
Larry is who/what the sentence is about, so Larry is the SUBJECT.
feels is the verb because it tells us what Larry is doing.
...feels sick today is the verb + the rest of the PREDICATE because it tells us information about Larry.

ACtion Verbs
Action verbs show what the subject is doing/has done/will do.
There are different kinds of ACTION verbs - DOING, SAYING, THINKING/FEELING.
DOING - walk, talk, chew, dance, laugh
SAYING - whisper, scream, spoke, squealed
THINKING/FEELING - depend, wonder, think, love
ALL OF THEM ARE ACTION VERBS!

Circus people depend on each other.
