Finding the main Idea of a text or book

2

How do we find the main idea of a text or book?

Remember the main idea is the most important point of the message the author or writer wants to share with you.

The main idea can sometimes be the topic of your story or text.

The main idea sentence could be at the beginning, middle or the end of a paragraph.

We could sometimes tell the idea of the story or text just by looking at the picture of the front page of your book.

Ask yourself; what is the main point the writer is making here?

 What is he talking about?

If you guessed his pet, you are right. the topic would be My Pet.

Who has black and white spots? Who likes running around the yard? Who does the writer love very much? yes! his pet.
