Mariachi History Lesson - Part 2

​Every pueblo had their own groups and songs.

The music sounded different in each pueblo.

​None of the music was written down. People learned it by listening to their families play and sing.

​Jalisco had:

​"Son De Jalisco"

​Ex: "Son De La Negra"

​Used Guitarron

​Veracruz had:

​"Son Jarocho"

​Ex: "La Bamba"

​Used harp

​San Luis Potosi had:

​"Son Huasteco"

​Ex: "La Malagunea"

• ​President hears that they won a competition in Guadalajara Inauguration = A party to celebrate a new president

• ​Mexico had experienced many wars and revolutions.

• ​The Mexican President wanted to bring together all the different communities in Mexico by making Mariachi Music the music of Mexico.
