Origin
A group of people called "Pilgrims" from England went on board in a ship called Mayflower on September 1920.
They had different ideologies from Catholic religious.

They embarked in the Mayflower on September 1920. So, They arrived in the United States arround two months later, in what is now known as Massachusetts.

Massachusetts
It was winter, the harsh weather and the scare food caused death of pilgrims.
However, the Indian Native Americans (Wampanoag tribe) and Pilgrims made a treaty of protection and planting knowledge.

ACTUALLY
On November 1921 was declared "Thanksgiving day" as a special day to celebrate the first harvest.
Now, Thanksgiving is celebrated the last Thursday on November to grateful the plenty and commemorate.
