​What is Media?

​1) Media is a medium of communication.

2) It is the way of communicating things to a lot of people.

3) There are are several ways of communicating with others like through newspapers, books, radios, CD’s, DVD’s, televisions, etc.

​Purposes of Media

There are 5 purposes of media. They are:-

1)   Advocacy- It is the act of a person or a group which influences ideas or decisions of social, political or economic institutions.

2) Entertainment- It is the act of grabbing attention or interest and giving pleasure.

3 ) Journalism- It is the act of collecting information and presenting it about current events.

4) Public Relations- It is the act of managing a strong society and a good image.

5) Education- It is the act of teaching people.​

​Types of Media

There are 2 types of media. They are:-

1) Print media- They are the sources of media in which it is printed in paper like newspapers, magazines, books, etc.

2) Digital media- They are the sources of media in which things are shown or played like radios, CD’s, DVD’s, televisions, computers, phones, tablets, laptops, etc.​
