Plurals
To change Nouns from singular to plural, usually you just add s.
Apples
Bananas
3
But be carefull! For some words, the sound changes the spelling. For example, when a word ends in f or fe:
leaf thief life life
The plural ends in a v sound. So we change the f and fe to a v and add es:
leaves thieves lives knives
4
When a plural ends in a iz sound, like foxes, we spell it with es.
Witches need watches.
5
We also add es to words that end in o.
But watch out, there are exceptions!
volcanoes tomatoes videoes
