A civilization is a group of people who work together to make life as good as possible for all members of the group.
The term ancient means that it is something that occurred a long time ago, way back in history.
As we have previously seen, both the Ancient Egyptians and the Ancient Romans achieved many things.

The Seven Wonders:
While there were achievements in many of the ancient civilizations, there are 7 that are considered the best examples.
These are known as the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World.

Only one of these ancient wonders still exists today - the Great Pyramid of Giza.
The 7 Wonders of the Ancient World was a list drawn up by the Ancient Greeks and so it only included buildings known to them.
The Ancient Greeks in a way then were the first tourists!

Most of the buildings were close to the Ancient Greeks.
Lots of other amazing buildings also existed at the time (i.e. Newgrange in the Republic of Ireland).
