Prepositions of time:

- at (lúc, vào lúc) dùng cho thời gian trong ngày và vào những ngày lễ

Ex: at 5 o’clock, at 11:45, at midnight, at Christmas, at night, at sunset, at dawn, …

- on (vào) dùng cho ngày, ngày tháng, ngày tháng năm và các ngày cụ thể

Ex: on Wednesday, on 15 April, on 20 July 1992, on Christmas day, on Friday morning, on my birthday

- in (trong, vào) dùng cho tháng năm mùa thế kỷ và các buổi trong ngày (ngoại trừ at night)

Ex: in 1998, in September, in March 1999, in the winter, in the 21st century, in the 1970s, in the morning​

​Lưu ý: Không dùng các giới từ in, on, at trước every, last, next, this, tomorrow, yesterday…

Prepositions of time:

- after: sau, sau khi

Ex: I’ll see you after the meeting.  (Tôi sẽ gặp bạn sau buổi họp.)

- before: trước, trước khi

Ex: She regularly goes for a run before breakfast.  (Cô ấy thường chạy bộ trước bữa sáng)

- between … and … = from … to/up to …: từ ... đến ...

Ex: between 6 pm and 8 am, from Monday to Friday, …

Ex: I’m usually free between/from Tuesday and/to Thursday.

Prepositions of time:

-  for: +  khoảng thời gian

Ex: for two hours (trong hai giờ), for 20 minutes (trong 20 phút), for five days (trong năm ngày), for a long time, for ages( trong một khoảng thời gian dài)…

- since: + mốc thời gian

Ex: since ten past six (từ 6h10), since Monday (từ thứ hai), since yesterday (từ hôm qua), since 1987 (từ năm 1987), since we were children (từ khi chúng tôi còn nhỏ),…

- till/ until: đến, cho đến khi

Ex:      He’ll be at work until/ till half past five. (Anh ấy sẽ làm việc đến 5h30)

-  up to: đến, cho đến

Ex: Up to now he’s been quiet. (Cho đến bây giờ anh ấy vẫn im lặng)
