Marketplace

Goods are things that people grow or make.

Services are the jobs people do to help other people. Anyone who works but does not make or grow something provides a service.

A marketplace or market is where things are traded, bought, or sold.

There are many types of markets. Large markets like shopping malls or flea markets are called marketplaces.

A market can be as small as a lemonade stand or a neighborhood convenience store on the corner.

Markets make getting the things we need and want in our daily life easier.

A consumer is a person who uses goods and services. Consumers spend the money they earn to buy the things they need and want.

Consumers have to make choices everyday. What to buy, what not to buy, and how much to pay.

Everyone is a consumer. The choices we make with our money today help determine what goods and services will be available the future.

Producers are people who grow food or make goods. These foods and goods are called products.

Producers can also be people who provide services.

Producers make products or sell their services to the consumer.

Many products are sold to a store or marketplace first and then to the consumer.
