Relative clauses
They identify which person or thing we are talking about.
They make it possible to give more information about the person or thing.
The boy went to the beach. (Which boy?)
The boy who lives next door went to the beach.
The book is very good. (Which book?)
The book that I bought yesterday is very good.

There is a photo of the hotel. (Which hotel?)
There is a photo of the hotel where we stayed.

We can use who or that to talk about people. That is more informal.
She's the woman who cuts my hair.
He's the man that I met at the conference.

We can use which or that to talk about things. That is more common and a bit more informal.
