​Mesopotamia was polytheistic

​Each City-State had their own patron god/goddess

​This meant that each city-state had a special god or goddess that represented them and that they worshipped more than the rest

​Worship Sites

​The earliest temples in Mesopotamia were called ziggurats

​

​These ziggurats were step pyramids where priests would go to communicate with the gods

​

​They did this by studying the moon, stars, and weather which is where we get astrology
