Why would the French and the British been in conflict for so many years off and on?

Consider the image on this slide (as well as the previous slide). It was created by Benjamin Franklin to illustrate the importance of the Albany Plan. Interpret the image to explain what you think it means.

Review the maps on the previous slide. How would you summarize the outcome for each country?

Was it fair for the British to raise taxes on the colonists to deal with the debt they incurred during the French/Indian War? Can you think of a better solution?

Do the colonists have a right to be angry with the British for the Proclamation of 1763? Or should they have just been thankful for the assistance during the war?

Imagine that the colonists had managed to follow the Albany Plan. Do you think that the colonists would have avoided the Revolutionary War, delayed it, or had no effect at all?
