​My two kittens

​Hi, I’m Salma. I have two kittens, Fluff and Tig. Fluff is small and gray, and Tig is small and black.

​

Fluff is a living thing, she is an animal. Fluff breathes air and she needs food. Every day I can watch her grow and change.

​

Tig is a toy, he is a nonliving thing. Tig doesn’t breathe and he can’t grow. He can only move if I move him.

​

I like to play with Fluff and Tig. I need to take care of them both.

Polly, Pete, and the Old Woman’s Cake

Narrator:  Polly and Pete are walking in the woods. They see a little house and stop to look in at the window. In the kitchen, there is an old woman. She is baking cakes.

​Polly:  The cakes smell very good. I want to eat one.

Pete:  We shouldn’t eat her cakes, Polly.

Narrator:  But, Pete looks and Polly is eating a big cake!

Old woman:  What are you doing?

Pete:  Run away!

Narrator:  The old woman chases them, but Polly and Pete run fast. She doesn’t catch them. Polly doesn’t take other people’s cakes again.
