​Sentences must always start with a capital letter and end with a punctuation mark. Sentences have a subject and a predicate. The subject tells us what or who the sentence is about. The predicate tells us what the subject is or does.

​A sentence may have a compound subject or a compound predicate (x2).

A compound subject means that there is more than one subject in a sentence. Example: Dante and Piper are going to the party.

​A compound predicate means that there are two or more verbs for the same subject. Example: Marcel watched movies and ate dinner.
