Scientific Notation has two parts, separated by an x

A number greater A power of 10

Must be a number between 1 and 10
It can equal 1, but must be less than 10
The second part
Will be a power of 10
BIG numbers will have a positive exponent
small numbers will have a negative exponent

Steps to put a number in scientific notation:
Move your decimal to a place where your number is between 1 and 10
Count the number of spaces you moved, that becomes your exponent
