• Thì hiện tại đơn dùng để diễn tả hành động thường xuyên xảy ra ở hiện tại hoặc chỉ một thói quen.

• Ex: I get up at 6 o'clock every morning

• My father reads newspaper every day.

• Dùng để diễn tả một sự thật hiển nhiên hoặc một chân lý.

  Ex: The Earth goes around the Sun.

​4. Cách thêm "s/es" vào sau V

- V kết thúc là "s, ss, ch, sh, z, x" ta thêm "es" vào sau V.

​Ex: go - goes watch - watches

​- V kết thúc là "y" trước "y" là phụ âm ta chuyển "y" thành "i" rồi thêm "es"

​5. Cách phát âm đuôi "s/ es"

Có 3 cách phát âm:

​- Đọc là /iz/ khi V kết thúc là: /s, ch, sh, z, x, -ge, -ce/

​Ex: wash = washes /iz/ dance - dances /iz/

​- Đọc là /s/ khi V kết thúc là: /k, t, s, p, θ, f/

​Ex: cook = cooks /s/ stop - stops /s/

​- Đọc là /z/: các trường hợp còn lại.

​Ex: play - plays /z/ run = runs /z/
