​SIMPLE SENTENCE câu đơn

​Simple sentence consists of just one independent clause

​ - Câu đơn là câu gồm cụm chủ vị độc lập và luôn có nghĩa.

​ - Câu đơn có thể có 2 chủ ngữ - 1 vị ngữ hoặc 1 chủ ngữ - 2 vị ngữ

​Examples of Simple Sentences

​ 1, I cannot drink warm milk

​ 2, Nam is playing football on the yard.

​ 3, Jack and Jill like walking.

​ 4, Jack likes fishing but hates hunting.

​ 5, Jack likes walking and fishing but hates running and hunting.

​COMPLEX SENTENCE - câu phức

​- Sự kết hợp giữa một mệnh đề độc lập (Independent clause) và một hay nhiều mệnh đề phụ thuộc (dependent clauses) sẽ tạo ra một CÂU PHỨC

​- Thông thường, mệnh đề phụ thuộc bắt đầu với các liên từ phụ thuộc (Subordinating conjunctions) như sau:

​ Although / Even though / Though

​ After / Since / Until /While / As / Before / When

​ If / Because / Unless

​ Whenever / Whereas / Wherever  

​EXAMPLES OF COMPLEX SENTENCE

=> While he waited at the train station, Joe realized that the train was late.

​

=> Though he was very rich, he was still very unhappy.

​

=> She returned the computer after she noticed it was damaged.

​

=> The movie, though very long, was still very enjoyable.
