   - usually aims to inform or instruct and has a formal, standardized, and simple language

​POETRY

​ - language arranged in lines

​ - attempts to recreate emotions and experiences like other forms of creative writing

​ - is more condensed and suggestive than prose

​ - narrative that springs from the imagination of the writer, though it may be based on actual events and real people

​ - Types of literature in the fiction genre include the novel, short story, and novella.

​ - it is a writing that develops plot and character through dialogue and action.
