​• History is the study of the past – specifically the people, societies, events and problems of the past – as well as our attempts to understand them. It is a pursuit common to all human societies.

• is a systematic study of the past. One cannot do history in the future or if the event has not yet being unfolded by historical actors. Nevertheless, history is not merely the record of past events: it is “the record of what one age finds worthy of note in another”.
