Add the auxiliairy DO or DOES (for the 3rd person singular) at the beginning of the sentence. The verb is in the base form (Packman to the S in the 3rd person singular).

​Ex: I walk my dog.

​Do I walk my dog?

​Ex: She walks her dog.

​Does she walk her dog?

​How to turn the simple present into a negative sentence

Add the auxiliairy DO NOT (don't) or DOES NOT (doesn't) before the verb. The verb is in the base form. The verb is in the base form (Packman to the S in the 3rd person singular).

​Ex: I do not walk my dog.

​She does not walk her dog.

​Exceptions

​with the 3rd person singular

​Exception #1

​Verbs that end in «Y» and that the letter before is a consonant, you change the «Y» for «IES».

​

​Ex: To try = He tries

​To cry = He cries

​

To buy = He buys (the letter before is a vowel)

​Exception #2

Verbs that end in «SH, CH, ​S, Z, X, O» add «ES» at the end of the verb.

​Ex: To wash = She washes

​To coach = She coaches

​To pass = She passes

​To fix = She fixes

​To go = She goes
