Reading Strategies and Skills Practice

​You'll be able to practice working with mirrors and windows, interpretive lenses, character-based summaries, theme-based summaries, and using your notebook to figure out which strategy works best for you right now.

​Pro tip: Use your notebook to collect similarities to your own life and differences from your own life as you watch.

​Pro tip: Pay attention to the way the storyteller (Alfonso Lacayo) tells the story to see if you can relate it to an experience you've had.

​Pro Tip: Take a few quick notes in your notebook as you listen, so you can write a great summary.

Now grab your book and read for the little bit of time that you have left in class. You could also use the remaining class time to work in your notebook. ​
