SUBJECTS

• Singular (one person or thing) - He (male), She (female), It (non person)

• Plural (more than one person or thing) - We (include you), You (other person or people), They (a group of people, not include you)

VERBS FORM

• Singular subjects - add -s or -es at the end of the verb: likes, eats, sleeps, goes, has, runs, eats, marries

• Plural subjects - use basic form: like, eat, sleep, go, have, run, eat, marry

• Jack likes eating burgers and fries.

• Winston often forgets to feed the dog.

• The teacher always gives a lot of homework.

COMMON NOUNS vs. PROPER NOUNS

• Common Nouns - used for people, things, places, or ideas and usually are not CAPITALISED unless they come at the beginning of a sentence: book, food, cat, dog, table, fish, trousers, blouse, etc.

• Proper Nouns - a give name (title) for people, places, or things - they are usually CAPITALISED: Doctor Jones, Taj Mahal, Pakuwon Mall, Santa Claus, Maria, Joseph, etc.
