It is a reading comprehension strategy that asks a student to pause, formulate the general idea of what they read and make up a question about the text.

When reading I need to have a physical book so I can write on it, take notes, highlight and make questions. I love interacting with my reading all the time.

It is a strategy that asks readers to look at different section of the text they will read and try to imagine what it is about

For me, it is really useful when I look for important words or phrases that are going to help me when reading a text.

The idea is to use general knowledge of a topic before and during reading.
