Hasil penjumlahan bilangan bulat dapat ditentukan dengan menggunakan aturan :
Untuk sembarang bilangan bulat a dan b, berlaku :
1.–a + b = – ( a – b ) à jika a lebih dari b
2.– a + b = b – a à jika b lebih dari a
3.– a + (–b) = – ( a + b ) à keduanya bilangan negatif

1.Hitunglah penjumlahan bilangan bulat berikut !

b. –14 + 29
Pembahasan:
a.–27 + 12 = –(27 – 12 )
= –15
b. –14 + 29 = 29 – 14
= 15
