Hal ini dibuktikan melalui percobaan ketika asam sitrat dan soda kue dicampurkan dan terjadi buih, sehingga balon yang tadinya kecil menjadi besar, karena disebabkan gas CO₂ hasil reaksi tersebut terus mengisi ruang didalam balon gas, sehingga mengembang.
