A clause which is used to tell you about the purpose of the verb in the main clause is called adverb clause of purpose. Adverb clauses of purpose are introduced by the subordinating conjunctions that, so that, in order that, in order to and lest.

An adverbial clause of reason is directly connected to the main clause of the sentence. It explains and gives reason for the main idea. We use adverbial clauses of reason to explain why someone does something or why something happens.

An adverbial clause of contrast describes something that differs from or contrasts with an idea expressed in the main clause. Commonly used subordinating conjunctions include though, although, even though, whereas, and even if.
