French ER verbs

Subjects are often people, places or things, they will often be names of people or may be pronouns instead

Pronouns are the words used in place of a name: I, you, he, she, we, they

Pronouns in french have a few more options, but are very similar: Je, tu/vous, il, elle, nous, ils/elles

When we use verbs we match them to the subject of the sentence, called conjugating the verb

In French, the verb ending changes to match the subject of the verb.

With ER verbs the er is taken off the end of the verb and the matching ending is added: for Je +e, for Tu +es, for Vous +ez, for Elle/Il +e, for Nous +ons, for Elles/Ills +ent

e.g. Parler (to speak) becomes parle when using Je (I) as the subject of the verb.
