When multiplying 2 or more numbers raised to the power of ’x’
raise each number in the brackets to the power

(2x)2 = 22 x2 = 4x2

When dividing 2 numbers raised to the power of ‘m’
Raise each each number number in the brackets or the power of 5
Same rules apply with index

(a/b)m = am/bm
(y/2)4 = y4/24 = y4/16

Zero power
Any number, except zero, that is raised to Zero will equal 1

Examples
a0 = 1
1810 = 1
2a0 = 2 x 1 =2
(2a)0 = 20 x a0 = 1
