Note: most vocabulary for family members in Spanish is the same for male and female - EXCEPT for the last letter and the definite article for the noun

el - "the" (definite article) for masculine nouns (male family members)

la "the" (definite article) for feminine nouns (female family members)

Note: for the plural of family members, you take the masculine form of the word and make it plural (i.e. el padre - los padres)

Note: "los parientes" sounds like "parents" in English but it means "relatives"
