Present Perfect Simple Tense

‘Are you hungry?’ ‘No, I’ve just had lunch.’ ?

Hello. Where are you? I have Just arrived

‘Don’t forget to pay the bill.’ ‘I’ve already paid it.’

‘What time is Mark leaving?’ ‘He’s already left.’ 

Has it stopped raining yet?

I’ve written the email, but I haven’t sent it yet. 

Been is the past participle of be.

Use been to describe completed visits. If you have visited a place on holiday and then returned you have been there.

Gone is the past participle of go.

If someone visits a place but has not come home they have gone there.

Ever means at any time

We use 'ever' with questions.

Have you ever studied German? Has Lucy ever been to the theatre?

We can use 'ever' with superlatives and adjectives like 'only' and 'first'.

- It was the first time that she'd ever been abroad. - That is the best meal that we've ever had.

Never means 'at no time' or 'not at any time'

We use "never" with affirmative sentences

BE CAREFUL! You must not use never and not together
