European Countries competed for colonies in Africa

Many European countries feared a war would break out over colonies

King Leopold II takes the Congo as his own PERSONAL colony

The crimes against humanity committed in the Congo lead to international outrage and the eventual takeover of the Congo by the Belgian Government

South Africa will see multiple rebellions/ conflicts due to imperialism
