1.Bahasa Portugis dari kata “Igreja”

2.Bahasa Spanyol dari kata “Iglesia”

3.Bahasa Yunani dari kata Ekklesia

Pengertian Gereja

Ekklesia berasal dari 2 kata, yaitu:

Ek yang artinya keluar

Klesia dari kata kaleo yang artinya memanggil

Sehingga Ekklesia berarti dipanggil keluar

Jadi, Gereja artinya persekutuan orang-orang yang dipanggil keluar dari kegelapan menuju terang Kristus yang ajaib
