VICTORIAN CHILDREN
During the Victorian period , poor children had to work to earn money. Children as young as 4 years could have jobs.

Children did lots of different work such as pushing carts of coal, climbing up chimneys to clean them, sweeping horse manure from manure and many more other unskilled labor

Rich children during this time went to school or had a governess to teach them at home.
In 1870 only half of 6 to 10 year-olds went to school.

Some of the jobs poor children did were often dangerous such that some got crippled by getting crushed by some machinery
Laws were passed to make the working conditions better but these children still had to work for ten hours a day and they also had to attend school
